Varvel SpA offers complete solutions for Food & Beverage machinery automation

Mechanical components for light industry need to match a great flexibility in production. For this reason, Varvel SpA has been standing since 1955 in speed reducer and variator production for different applications with UNI EN ISO 9001 / UNI EN ISO 14001 certifications.
In Food & Beverage, Varvel SpA, in collaboration with a few manufacturers of pasta production industrial machines, has gained a considerable know-how in devising and making worm and bevel / helical  for dough industrial mixers.
Varvel’s R&D department designs the reducers internally, starting from the specifications provided by customers and using the state-of-the-art software for gear design.
Any of Varvel’s worm and bevel / helical gearboxes can be supplied in their standard versions. On specific needs, special reducers can be made using FDA-certified (Food and Drug Administration) lubricants for Food & Beverage industry, keeping the mechanical performances unchanged.
Besides this,  Varvel gearboxes are also painted with a certified paint for the Food & Beverage industry to increase protection against external corrosive agents.
Regarding Milling and Feedstuff Factory, it is becoming more and more important to perform an exhaustive safety environment evaluation since European Community classifies them – from 2003 – as potentially explosive according to ATEX Directive 94/9/CE.
In July 2003, Varvel has been the first Italian producer of speed reducers to have deposited its products’ technical files at INERIS, Notified Body in France, to get the Varvel products ATEX-certified – suitable for use in potentially explosive environment.
