The Board of Directors has unanimously confirmed Fabrizio Bindocci at the helm of the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino, which will remain in office until 2016. The Council also elected three Vice-Presidents: Patrick Cencioni, Bernardo Losappio, Francesco Ripaccioli.
Fabrizio Bindocci, 58, since 1999 director of Il Poggione, one of the historic estates of the land of Brunello. Former vice-president during the first term of Filippo Fanti (1998 – 2000), the Consortium has held the position of President in June 2012, replacing the Cav. Ezio Rivella.
Focusing on complementarity between large and small producers to have even greater weight in Italy and abroad, consolidate the leading role in the area to develop the economy of Montalcino, invest in the training of young people, diversify the production areas to better target the consumer, create a code of ethics: these are the points that characterize the new term.
The President just confirmed will drive for three years, a fact that in 2012 produced 9,200,000 of Brunello and 4,500,000 bottles of Rosso di Montalcino, and 40,000 bottles of Moscadello and 360,000 bottles of Sant ‘Antimo with an export share of about 65%.
